For the Children is a service of Cabarrus Pediatrics, is made possible by Dr. David Douglass. He is a full-time general pediatrician with a passion for international medicine and adoption. Since his family's first international adoption experience in 2002, Dr. Douglass has actively served as a personal medical consultant for adoptive families. His over-arching desire is to see orphans freed from institutions and placed in loving, well-prepared, forever families.
Services Available
Pre-adoption:
| 1. | Personal phone consultation with Dr. Douglass to review your child's medical information. Read "How to Request a Consultation." |
| 2. | E-mail analysis of follow-up information obtained after initial phone conference. |
| 3. | Advice regarding travel safety and how to care for your child overseas. |
During your travels:
| 1. | E-mail contact for further questions or medical concerns. (Note - this is subject to Dr. Douglass' schedule and while rarely a problem cannot be guaranteed.) |
After bringing your child home:
| 1. | Thorough evaluation and screening labs. |
| 2. | Ongoing pediatric home if desired. |
